another action packed weekend comes to a close. i just turned
around and realized that the sun has set on another sunday.
i have been so wrapped up in surfing, writing, and posting for
the last few hours, that i didn't even notice that night has
fallen. there is a new feature on vagabond
today -- los
caminantes. stellarfriends erich and sara have
been trekking through south america over recent months and have
been electronically documenting their experiences via emails
sent to friends. now they have a little place on the web to
extend their adventurous tales further out into the world. i
thank them for contributing. i also thank my friend matt for
linking them to stellargirl.
for the first time in many moons, but only one lunar eclipse,
i have been really busy with work and social stuff. my time
has become so much more precious which is a welcome change for
me. i am sure i will find flaws in that before too long, but
for now i am enjoying the swiftness of life in new york city.
i'm waiting for the sun to come out and stay awhile and maybe
bring the temperature up to what i expect out of may. i am longing
for the days of flip flops and tank tops. a nice period of the
year that will soon end with dreams of sweaters and fuzzy scarves.
i am still glad the air is bringing with it new life and change.
now go on and have some vicarious adventures with los
caminantes!

i have become such a stellargirl slacker. my world is topsy
turvy as usual and i guess i either have nothing new to say
or i have been reporting it elsewhere. you be the judge.
this past weekend, i finally went to see the Matthew
Barney exhibit at the guggenheim. it was grander than i
ever imagined it could be. the recommendation to see it was
passed along to me by many people. i think it was well worth
the experience and i have been encouraging others to go check
it out. whether or not you like matthew barney, his ideas, or
his art, it's still a fascinating journey. it's also very male-oriented,
which was unusual to me a) because i am female and b) because
it seems like so much art is so overtly feminine. at least what
immediately comes to mind. but what do i know? my art history
degree has lapsed a bit.
i also went to eat greek food this past weekend, which was so
delicious and fun. i practiced as much of my greek as i could
remember. the waiter was really cool, he taught me some new
words, which of course, i forget already.
nothing else new really going on. spending my days thinking
about what's next for me.. and how things will be changing again.
maybe that act of not changing will be change enough. too early
to tell.
keep on rockin'

ok ok, a lot of you have been bitching that i haven't been writing
on here. sorry about that. i have been busy! believe it or not!
i actually started temping last week, and i now have a project
for the next month or so which is very exciting considering
the abysmal state of my employment over the last several months.
so that's where i have been.
in other news, i went out of town last weekend for a few days
and came back contemplating the relationship of big city to
small town. as in, which do i prefer? i long for one, and miss
the other. hard to say really. for now, living in the big city
is getting me by and allowing me to explore a lot about myself.
for those of you who have been following, i haven't left yet
-- even though i have threatened to several times.
which brings me to another point. i have discovered, and perhaps
this is a result of living in a big city, that whenever i finalize
a decision about moving or changing something, literally within
a few days or even a few hours, some odd moderately catastrophic
event comes along and causes me to completely change my mind,
and be sure of it. city living is fun and exciting, but confusing
as well because you have so many choices about everything. you
are constantly being presented with decisions to make about
where to live, what to eat, who to hang out, where to go, where
to work, how to cut your hair. it's a mad, mad world. as a result
of this, i think i might be working on giving myself fewer choices
-- with the intent that maybe i will become more decisive. but
then again, who am i kidding??
new music! check out egg boy's latest music review: Fleetwood
Mac, Say You Will.
big happy birthdays are in order this weekend: albie of philadelphia light
room fame had a birthday yesterday (i believe) and mike
of openphoto,
and coincidentally his twin brother andrew, celebrate their
big day tomorrow. well, actually they are celebrating all day
today from what i hear! happy birthday everybody!
and thanks for reading.
