i have been wicked homesick lately. just so you know - my dear friends
from home, i have been thinking of you a lot....been wanting to kick
it at 19th and Al Green, grab some tofu at Essene, shake my ass at
the 700 Club, and drink Bjornson-style at Sugar-Moms. miss you guys.
new interest: European Hip Hop (for when i cross the atlantic again!)

"You're so beautiful to look at when you cry
Freeze, don't move
You've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel
to your life."
Shady Lane -- Pavement
monday monday....
1.26.01
if you are in the bay area, don't miss paul and his friends spin out
some rockin' tunes from the 60's and 70's at All
or Nothing on monday night (january 29th).
other than that, hope everyone has a great weekend.
1.24.01
i think it's really cool when you hear a song and you feel like it
goes with your general feeling about your current state of mind, and
then you realize that you had everything all wrong -- but the song
still applies!!!
one day i will tell you what song it was.
1.23.01
it was time to give stellargirl a new look...and finally something
happened! i was in such a hurry to upload this, that i am certain
that there will be many bugs. so sorry about that! what can i say,
i am very impatient, and according to some, paranoid(!) -- i just
couldn't wait to share the new design with you.
thank you and have a nice day!
1.22.01
monday morning. not too much else to say about that. cosmopolitans
made the weekend fun. can't stop listening to johnny cash. wondering
what will happen next....
hey -- check out some new pics in the PHOTO
section....new year's eve baby, many more rolls to come
may i please add that I HATE GEORGE BUSH! thank you for beginning
to take away the reproductive rights of women! also California thanks
you for your support. way to go, election thief!
1.19.01
so this morning, i threw a little guided by voices into the changer,
alien lanes to be precise, and i gotta say, it was so good to hear!
it was rockin' good and i think i have finally made peace with the
music. GBV used to be one of my favorite bands but i really needed
to get some space from them...and now they are *all good*
there is a lot of peace to make, but also a little too much hell to
raise...
1.17.01
i have finally resolved my ftp issues so perhaps i can get back to
the business of maintaining a website. these past few days have proved
to be very interesting for me. i saw 5 movies, yes 5, over the weekend
so i plan to share my opinions of them in the coming days. it feels
like suddenly my life is all kinds of upside down and not exactly
where i want it to be, but i think i haven't really been taking advantage
of the mega-cool city that i live in. i have gotten some inspiration
to stay busy.
speaking of cities, the latest london
diary entry has been posted. christine never fails to amuse.
last night while traversing the bay to oakland, i was tagged. someone
stuck me with their graffitti. i don't think they realized how much
i really appreciated it. check
it out...
my musical prescription of the day: My Bloody Valentine -- Isn't Anything

sometimes i really just don't understand anything....

new addition to LONDON
DIARY...AND a tasty
treat in the fluff section...
haven't been near a computer too much lately...strange thing -- it
is a good thing, and sort of a weird thing, too! but monday i start
my NEW AND IMPROVED job. let's just say that i am a little excited
about it, because i have been wanting it for quite some time (since
the summer!) and now i finally get to start. just stopping in to say
hi, hope everyone has a great weekend....
1.2.01
everyone seems to be traveling of late. my good friend, and generous
host in the bay area, alexandra...also a rome compatriate, traveled
to barcelona this past december. visit
her website of pictures and writings and live vicariously for
a change!
to my other friends abroad -- today i choose kris in ireland -- please
write soon and let us know how it is going. cheerio!
1.1.01
Happy New Year everyone! it is official, we have entered 2001....did
everyone have a fun and/or memorable new years? i had a great time
with all of my friends at FORK listening to the best DJ in philadelphia,
DJ Cozmic Cat!
i also took a boatload of photos, so keep checking for new additions
to the photo gallery, i would like to phase the old one out real soon.
tomorrow i leave the east coast and return to the west. i am glad
i got to see my friends while i was home. unfortunately, i didn't
get to see everyone, or perhaps spend as much time as i would have
liked to with the friends that i did see...but these are the risks
you take when you move really far away. i am sure that our friend
christine who has recently transplanted herself to London will have
much to say on this topic. in the meanwhile, check out her first london
diary entry.
lucky me, during my brief stint in philadelphia, i got to see 12 inches
of snow. i don't really miss the snow when i am on the west coast
-- the sloppy, slushy mess it leaves behind. and it's hard not to
slip on all that ice in platform shoes! of course, nothing compares
to the absolute quiet of a fresh snow fall.
i feel like i should have something much more interesting to report,
but the truth is, i have felt pretty stagnant since i have been back
home. it was WONDERFUL to be with the people i love, but i am in this
limbo, between jobs, in a new home, finding ways to create tiny roots....finding
my way in a new city. it is a momentous thing and i miss that energy
and i can't wait to continue once again on my path.
