i knew what my yogi tea was going to say before i even opened it. i had a feeling about my current views on life in general and there it was. i've written about it before on here and i might have even mentioned how my yoga teacher based a whole class on it one day. it was a nice sign. back to your regularly scheduled programming.

new music review of metric, check it out! i've been listening to it nonstop since i got it.. it's pretty fun. i can't get the song Succexy out of my head. i think it will be a good song for the weekend. holy shit, i am going to see cyndi lauper tonight!! she-bop!!!

ever have one of those days where you think of someone in passing, like... wow, haven't talked to them in a while, and then they show up in your life to say hello! and then you tell another person who you haven't talked to in ages who is sort of related to the first person, and they tell you they have been trying to call you but they had your number wrong. it's just one of those days. people popping up all over the place.

another thing i realized today is that christmas is a week from tomorrow. oops! haven't bought one thing. i bought christmas cards a month or so ago, but they're still sitting in the box. i should probably send some. i'll tell you what though, my parents got a great gift in the mail from my brother and his family.. a cheesecake in the shape of TEXAS. yeehaw!

i heard a great song today when i went to get lunch. roberta flack singing killing me softly. it's a great song in so many ways. it was the perfect day to hear it. one reason i really love that song is how it is used in the move about a boy, which is one of my favorite movies. it's a great story about friends and family, and having backup. that song made me remember my backup. thanks, you know who you are.

finally feeling better after that wretched flu(?) came into my life and those around me. last night we celebrated nora's birthday well into the night. it was good fun.. today, more snow. saddam hussein is in custody. my hair is shorter. that's a wrap.

i have been sick sick sick for days now. hate when those winter cold / flu things sneak up on you when you least expect them. i suppose i couldn't ask for a better weekend to be sick since there was basically a huge blizzard dumped on the city. i guess i didn't really miss too much.

it's been a while since i watched so much daytime tv. in my days of working from home, i never actually turned the tv on during the day, except to check the weather or news. since today was a day of rest, i thought it might be nice to catch up on some of the late 80s sitcoms that i grew up on. also, i was able to catch parts of 2 ricki lake episodes! oddly enough, they were both about cheaters in relationships. i guess they could have been the same episode, but i didn't watch either from start to finish. i walk past the ricki lake studio every day on my way to work. maybe i will bump into her one day. hopefully she won't send me to makeover bootcamp.
