4.24.01
so this is my last night in san francisco... i am glad i got to say
goodbye to most of you, and those of you who i didn't say goodbye
to...
maybe we will meet again one day.
i feel that my fortune was important today: "Your dearest wish
will come true." i hope that it has something to do with may
5th.
4.22.01
2 farewells in one weekend, just a few more days on this coast. i
haven't been here long enough, but i have some other places i need
to be. i have to follow my heart. it doesn't always give me the right
answer, but it sure does drag me all over creation.
i have a new celebrity boyfriend, take
a look!
4.19.01
i forgot to mention that i had a lovely iced tea the other day with
my dear friend jack saturn, who has since relocated himself to portland,
oregon...home of the delightful Steph(!) -- an old friend from philly
who i finally caught up with...
so anyway, best of luck to jack in all of his travels and adventures.
visit his website
today!
even later, even more wine.
so i sort of alluded to the fact that i don't actually own a computer.
for all these months, i have been doing this site from computers at
friends' houses and at work. but guess what! i no longer have a job!
ugh. but i still manage to maintain this site. yay me.
i am in a room with someone who just said "sweepstakeses."
i wish that she would drink some more, but instead she is going to
release some endorphins at the local gymnasium. for those of you that
know her, her shirts never usually meet the top of her pants and she
has an affinity for the game of pool.
so anyway, the point of all this rambling is that one day soon, one
would hope, i will have a computer of my very own. a computer which
will host my rants and raves and drunken tirades. i know you have
all been waiting for my true self to come out here...some of you already
know how to identify me, others are left with guesswork.
guesswork.
4.19.01
later on...
IBM and graffitti? i have seen this myself.....see
for yourself
wine is good. red wine. white wine. warm wine. cold wine. everybody
drink more wine.
anyone got any good new york city connections? send them my way.
4.19.01
i sold my computer to move to california and since i have been here,
i have had in my possession two different state of the art laptops.
i am back where i started with no computer, relying on the kindness
and DSL of others.
what a roller coaster of emotions i have been feeling lately. one
day i wake up and i am happy to leave this place and the remainder
of my stay just can't go fast enough, while another day i wake up
and nearly begin to cry at leaving the new friends and this beautiful
city. my short stay here has been tumltuous, but interesting. i have
loved and hated and wondered and dreamed. i know it is probably too
soon to leave, but i realize that this is who i am now. i have just
begun another countdown until i will turn my world upside down once
again. and again.
i adore Yo La Tengo, but sometimes i really hate it when they go off
on those crazy musical droney things.
4.13.01
my fortune today was right on: "Friends long absent are coming
back to you."
see you soon.
4.12.01
much later on.
i have been working on a some restructuring, i really have. i even
have a whole new concept for the site. but, i will be sidetracked
for a few more weeks as there have been some unexpected changes in
my life as of today (speaking of restructuring...)
do you want my answer? my answer for today? i agonize over what my
head says, i try to listen to my gut, but inevitably i listen to my
heart.
the big changes in my life will come from listening to my heart --
my heart which i feel like i have been living wihout for several months.
4.12.01
i finally accomplished something i had been meaning to do for so long
-- i put the pictures from jon & brittney's summer wedding back up
in the photo section. i took down a lot of photos a while ago since
i restructured the way i lay them out and the way i organize them.
i kept pushing that one to the back burner, but it was actually a
pleasure to finish, it brought back some nice memories. click
here to see them >> and to see pictures of the lovely bride, brittney,

been up in the color - people section >>

whoopee! a new feature in fluff today. i often wonder about the kinds
of people that come to my site, how did they get here, etc. well,
a marvelously fun thing to do is to check out the search criteria
that people enter which brings up stellargirl.com. i can guarantee
that many of these people do not actually come to the site since i
don't think i really have what they want!

everywhere! also, happy trails to our captain, our captain, mr. steve
kuhn himself.

Dear Stellargirl,
I was totally inspired by what you wrote about colour and decided
to contribute some feelings.
Rome also changed the way I looked at the world. It seemed that the
city was one huge swirling rainbow--- orange building and yellow sun
and green palm trees. I came away from Rome in love with orange.
Back in Philadelphia I tried to maintain the palette- but with the
style police knocking on the door, subconsciously and reluctantly
toned it down more than I should or wanted to.
Here in London, colours are even more subdued. Businesspeople barely
touch a mediocre blue before recoilling in horror. The grey of the
sky and matching tone of the buildings creates a strange sense of
dreariness. Having brought nothing but a backpack here, my clothing
choices were "basics", and yes, pretty much all black.
Stellargirl, I feel grey inside when its grey outside and act dark
and dreary when I clothe myself in black. So a few days ago I did
a brave (for a Londoner) thing: I bought a pair of bright red sneakers!
They are awfully cute and have changed the way I look around!
Now I am seeing colour everywhere-- whether its a purple scarf peeking
out from the mass of peple on the tube, or a bright red double decker
going of a bridge standing out against the sky-- these flashes of
colour are almost more beautiful in their rarity! I have orange pants
too now, and a lovely purple top.
Please remain true to your love of brilliance and light and colours
everywhere!
All my love,
christine b.

Bush's new budget sucks, cutting serious funding to the environmental
protection agency...click
here to read >>
"And, he said, he would spend more for a program that buys child
safety locks for handguns." With the NRA filling Bush's pocket$,
he will certainly make sure that guns are still plenty available,
lock or no lock.
one random thought: i realize i have mentioned my closet before, but
this morning i looked at it and i realized that it had a rainbow of
colors inside! many of my friends know that my clothing palette used
to consist of merely black and gray, but i have entered the world
of color in so many ways. you heard it here: life should be more colorful.
4.6.01
friday friday...what to do? the day is kind of dragging on, my project
at work is coming to a close, finally! it's a-rainin' in san francisco
today. it makes me wanna crawl under my covers and watch DVDs -- and
i might just have to go do that.
last night i had an extremely jovial bus driver on MUNI. the back
door must have gotten stuck, because the bus stopped in the middle
of the street (they are electric). he asked several times if anyone
was standing in the stairwell. no one was there. eventually, the bus
power came back and the driver started going on and on about how the
bus must be haunted. anyway, he got the whole bus laughing and talking
and it made me think about how that guy could really start a comedy
career on the bus. i mean, people usually like to be entertained and
it definitely makes the bus ride go faster especially when people
are packed in like sardines and being thrown about by those shitty
brakes.
the buses in Rome were so much worse, yet they do bear some similarities
to the san fran MUNI system. on an italian bus, or l'autobus, it is
just as crowded, even more so since there are far fewer seats. that
is really just a green light to pack 'em in. what a disgrace. if you
ever travel to Rome, and especially if you are female, watch your
back! i mean that! the guys there think it's okay to rub up against
you and get their rocks off. it's pretty nasty. luckily, i tried to
be aware of my surroundings at all times, and i was spared the vile
action. on a more positive note, buses in rome are pretty empty late
at night, so you can get a seat and well, you better hold on tight!
they drive like maniacs late at night and you will literally be thrown
from one end of the bus to the other. one more good thing, the buses
are this fabulous orange color.
what is the public transportation like in your city? do you use it?
no car for me...no $$, no need.
have a fabulous weekend. go see something cool. i will try and do
the same.
4.5.01
so the mission is on to find a fun bar this weekend, and it might
even be in THE mission. i will bring by "yuppies-be-gone" spray with
me! it was so good to be in new york city for the weekend, it was
just right all around. i have yet to feel that vibe in the bay area.
things can change, i suppose. i will stay open minded for a bit longer!
i have decided that april is going to be my month to see some art.
i have been putting it off for a while and i know that there is a
really cool show at the SFMOMA
right now -- art in technological times. there is also some interesting
stuff at the Palace
of the Legion of Honor -- toulouse-lautrec and john cage. fun!
has anyone noticed that there are like no good movies out right now?
maybe it is just me....
4.4.01
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
so last night i listened to susannah's band LORELEI and it was
soooo awesome, go sue! this girl is a rocker, an artist, and
an intellect. i can't keep up with her!
4.3.01
and a good morning to you friends.
today's word of the day (courtesy of dictionary.com)
is visceral: vis-cer-al (vsr-l) adj. 1. Relating to,
situated in, or affecting the viscera. 2. Perceived in or as if in
the viscera; profound: "The scientific approach to life is not
really appropriate to states of visceral anguish" (Anthony Burgess).
3. Instinctive: visceral needs. See Synonyms
at instinctive.
incase you wanted to know what viscera meant: vis-cer-a
(vsr-) pl.n. 1. The soft internal organs of the body, especially those
contained within the abdominal and thoracic cavities. 2. The intestines.
talk about listening to your gut!
aaron
is a good artist.
4.2.01
it sure has been a while since i have written...or so it seems since
i have been making such a habit out of it. so much is going on, it
is so absolutely crazy! i spent the weekend in NYC with my sister
and friends and i had the BEST time ever. i am seriously questioning
why i don't already live there. i have to pace myself though, i need
to try to stay in once place for at least a year! of course, fate
will decide before i do.
because this weekend was so much fun, i am happy to share with you
some of the new images. there are 2 groups, one that is mostly my
sister and her thing, and the other which is mostly me and my thing.
we may be sisters, but we are from such different worlds! click
here to check out the new images >>
daylight savings stole an hour from us this weekend. i am making up
for it by staying up way too late working on this site...i must be
crazy. well, i am because i have to be honest with you, stellargirl
is so busy right now. and so is the lovely christine b., read
her latest LONDON DIARY entry!
a very special lady in sydney whom you have not met yet has also submitted
content for her new section -- fear and loathing...it is positively
awesome! i have to make some space for her so i need another day to
get my act together! hooray for all my commonwealth divas!
it's too late and i am running low on words of wisdom. but i am high
on promises! lots of new stuff coming your way...hammering out some
new designs, and thinking about some other stuff. i just want to make
you happy, precious readers!
note to self: do not drink caffiene after 3 pm.
also, i have some new pictures from my pacific ocean excursions. need
to get those bad boys scanned. you will see them momentarily!
